OLD TOM VOLUME LAUNCHED IN HOME OF GOLF

 FITTINGLY, an award-winning book charting the history of golf and the central role in its evolution played by Tom Morris and his family, has been launched only a putt away from the shop – overlooking the famous Old Course – where the great man worked and which still bears his name.
‘Tom Morris of St Andrews, The Colossus of Golf’ a long-awaited volume by David Malcolm (right) and Peter Crabtree (pictured here on the Old Course courtesy of Ian Joy Photographic) was launched at a party in The New Golf Club, St Andrews, last week.
The book has already received the Herbert Warren Wind Prize as the golf book of the year in the US and the Murdock Medal in the UK.
More than a mere biography of Tom Morris, the highly acclaimed work details the emergence of golf from a parochial Scottish pastime to the global game of today and the central role that Tom Morris, his family and their friends and foes played in it.
